Bantie
Bantie is a Swedish design company which has been in business only six years. It was founded in 2007 by Ulrika Gyllstad and Wilhemina Wiese and it is named after Ulrika's favourite aunt, Bantie, who had a shop selling fabrics and lingerie. Now, as well as wallpapers, the Bantie collection includes fabrics, cushion covers, lamps, make up bags and such-like, all printed in Sweden.
As far as the wallpapers are concerned there are two major designs, Kokeshi and Korall. The Kokeshi is a modern interpretation of a classic ‘toile de Jouy' pattern, with an Asian twist. A figurative print, featuring charming Japanese dolls, it is particularly attractive in that the pattern is the same as the fabric on the cushion covers, produced by the same company, so you can match them up.
The Kokeshi is available in combinations of black, white and orange and blue and white. The Korall comes in plain pink, champagne or white.
