Emma Bridgewater
All started in 1984, right after Emma graduated from college and went to work in London. She was looking for a present for her mother's birthday one day. She wanted to gift her two items that would say, "I love you," two cups and saucers. I'm missing you. She entered a china store and browsed the selection in an effort to choose some crockery that would accurately reflect the hospitable atmosphere of her mother's North Oxford kitchen. Yet back then, it appeared like there were only two options available on the Great British high street: delicate and formal or sturdy and unmistakably unromantic. Suddenly, Emma saw her mother's dresser in the kitchen. She pictured it right here in the china shop, surrounded by a gorgeous assortment of vibrant, mismatched crockery. It was obvious that starting to create china herself would be the only way to turn the vision into a reality. Yet she had no notion whatsoever how or where.
She learned about Stoke-on-Trent after having a casual talk with a friend. Emma Bridgewater, the iconic modern ceramic brand, was created as a result. In the past three decades, we have stayed committed to the original, motivating idea—that it is crucial to get the ideas and design just right. Everyday kitchen utensils, in our opinion, are at the centre of our lives; each cup, bowl, jug, and plate contains our unique tales, reflects special occasions, and enriches us while we eat and drink together. Each design begins as a strongly felt, individual reaction to the things we love about the world. Yet, we won't know we've succeeded unless you share our enthusiasm. We've gone beyond ceramics in recent years. You may now enjoy our designs on glass, tins, picnicware, stationery, wallpaper, fabrics, and our own line of candles and home scents, in addition to our designs on these other items. Emma continues the mental exchange she had with her mother in 1984. Nonetheless, we hope that you are now also a part of it.
