Louise Body
Louise Body is a Hastings-based wallpaper designer whose work is featured regularly in leading style magazines, and it requires only a glance at some of her creations to see why she is so sought after.
She trained originally in Fine Art and this shines through in her collections as she combines drawing, painting and photographic imagery to produce designs which are delicately beautiful. There is , therefore, a personal touch to them, as well as a feeling of nostalgia, which has its origins in her choice of colour, texture and subject matter.
She takes inspiration from the Victorian era and the botanical gardens and her collections have a traditional colour palette. There is one design, 'Harry's Garden', which features blue tits, bird cages and blossom, which was named after an 86-year-old artist friend, and another, based on lace given to her by her grandmother Marney. This collection is the latest in contemporary design and is extremely popular. Other bird and floral designs have a vintage feel to them, contrasting sharply to her erotic collection, which might not be to everyone's taste. All her wallpapers use paper sourced from managed forests, and all use only water-based inks.
