Marcel Wanders

Marcel Wanders is a Dutch designer who designs for some of the biggest contemporary manufacturers such as B&B Italia, Bisazza, Poliform, Moroso, Boffi and Moooi of which he is also art director and co-owner.

Typical of his wallpaper collections is Couture, eight striking designs each named after a glamorous person with an inspiration name – Suzanne, Alice, Grace, Kelly, Audrey, Isaballa, Stelle and Henry. The colour pattern in this range features a mix of boldness and subtlety, from vivid oranges and vibrant reds to rich golds and chocolate tones. It is a truly dynamic and, in many ways, inspirational collection, reflecting the desire for greater sophistication in wallpaper design, and there is no doubt that Marcel Wanders leads the way in developing innovative and stylish wallpapers at affordable prices. His stated aim when designing wallpaper is to excite the imagination; to make a real design statement in the home, using beautifully intricate patterns.

Even in black and white the clever shading complements the details of the patterns, and his inspirational use of texture brings a further delightful dimension to his creations. Marcel was the Elle Decoration Designer of the Year in both 2005 and 2006.
