Romo
It was in 1902 that Robert Mould, who gave his name to the company (Romo), started a small-scale furniture manufacturing business in Nottingham and it has developed into an international leader in the design and marketing of exclusive furnishing and upholstery fabrics, wall-coverings and trimmings for both residential and contract interiors.
The company, now managed by the founder's great grandson, Jonathan, has built up a reputation for excellent designs and quality (there are close working relationships with carefully chosen expert weavers and printers).
In the 1980s Romo started its own in-house studio, which led to it becoming the design-led organisation it is today. All pattern books are produced in-house at the head office site, which remains in Nottingham. To give you some idea of the size of its operation, the main fabric stores consist of three warehouse units which hold approximately 250,000 rolls of fabric and wall-coverings. What a choice! If you fancy a particular colour or theme; if you have a certain style in mind - or maybe a particular texture - then there will be something to your taste. Indeed, there may even be something to suit your mood!
